It has been a long time coming, but now at last, (mainly due to the efforts of my amigo Kris Northern) here it is: the much requested (and much procrastinated) new Cosmosis website.
Here's how it works:
For information about previous Cosmosis album and single releases and to hear some music clips, check out the Discography.
If you are interested in making trance music you may like to check out the Dr. Bill section which contains some useful tips and tricks that I have picked up over the ten years or so that I have been making and releasing electronic music. This section contains some of my emailed replies to questions that I have been asked by budding producer friends over the years.
Interviews contains some press interviews (spookily enough) both old and new.
If you are looking to contact me for booking gigs, licensing music or just wish to give me large amounts of cash for no particular reason, then head for the contacts section. You can also reach me on mail@cosmosis.co.uk
Lastly, if you wish to comment on Cosmosis' music, the website, say hello or anything at all really, then rock over to the guestbook before you leave.
That's it. Have fun and thank you for your interest in my music.
Billy Cosmosis
Now, at last, the eagerly awaited fifth album from Cosmosis, "Trancendance" is hot off the press and ready for release.
It has been two years since Cosmosis' last album "Contact" and now Cosmosis storms back with a stunning collection of powerful quality tracks, ranging from blissed out morning uplifters to full-on twisted psychedelic mayhem to consciousness elevating chillage - all presented with the state of the art production level and that special Cosmosis twist that makes the tunes distinctively Cosmosis.
It has been well worth the wait.
There's no album padding here. All the tracks have a unique identity and are often imbued with a cheeky sense of humour, Each track has been carefully and precisely crafted as only an experienced psy-trance producer with over ten years of record releases and live and DJ performance under his belt can.
The experience shows. In a scene where the music can tend towards the generic, it is indeed rare and refreshing to hear an artist with an original voice.
Destined to become another must-have Psy-Trance classic.
Released on Holophonic Records in association with Phantasm Records
Cosmosis are one of the few artists on the Psy-trance scene with an distinctive sound, Cosmosis (with Jez Van Kampen) were also one of the original artists that, along with Total Eclipse, Hallucinogen, Man With No Name and Astral Projection, pioneered the Goa and Psy-trance sound in the early nineties, releasing one of the first Psy-Trance artist albums, the seminal Cosmology in 1996, which is generally regarded as one of the few classic Goa albums. http://www.psynews.org/reviews/cosmolog.htm
After Jez Van Kampen left Cosmosis in 1997 to concentrate on the Laughing Buddha project Bilbo, now solo and not content to rest on his laurels, went on to write and produce the excellent 1998 release; Synergy widely regarded as a Psy-Trance classic. http://www.psynews.org/reviews/synergy.htm
Later album releases include: the best selling Cosmosis album; Intergalactic in 2000 followed by Contact in 2002 and Speaking In Tongues with DJ Kuma as Mumbo Jumbo in 2003.
Bilbo Bagginz, the producer behind Cosmosis,(also produces Mumbo-Jumbo) is now as much in demand to compose music for picture as he is for live appearances to play his particular brand of tongue in cheek, full power Psy-trance music on dancefloors around the world. He is currently involved in creating the music for several 3D computer animation/music projects for release on DVD.
Cosmosis' music has also been used in a Hollywood movie soundtrack. Bilbo divides his studio time between scoring music for animation, making full power dance music and touring Cosmosis worldwide.
